It was over a year ago when we first heard about Star Wars Uncut, the 15-second-at-a-time, crowdsourced remake of Star Wars: A New Hope. And it's now finally available in its entirety for your streaming pleasure.

Who's in it?

Former Vimeo developer, Casey Plugh, came up with the original idea for the project. But the film was created and features Star Wars fans from around the world. Each 15-second segment was produced by a different group of filmmakers using their own equipment, and the result is a classic story retold by its fans, for its fans... With cats.

What's it about?

It's a scene-by-scene remake of the original Star Wars film following the same script, but with a much smaller budget and a lot more actors. If you've seen the original, then you'll know exactly what's going on. If you haven't, well... the dialogue remains largely in tact.

Why do we like it?

As you've probably gathered, what makes this an awesome movie isn't its production values or the talent of its actors. As cliché as it sounds, what makes it special is the people who made it. It's like watching the original movie through the eyes of its most devoted fans. You can tell that they had fun making their scenes and as a result, you will have fun watching them. Oh, and in case you were wondering, in this version Han does indeed shoot first.
